The Human League

The iconic, Sheffield born ’80’s supergroup will be headlining on Sunday 28th July,

The Proclaimers

It has been 32 years since Scottish twins Craig & Charlie Reid aka The Proclaimers emerged. Since then, their enduring appeal across generations has carved a niche for themselves where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide as the emotional honesty, political fire, wit and sing-along raucousness of their songs and their extensive touring has enlightened and entertained fans throughout the World.

They have even inspired a musical, the play and film ‘Sunshine on Leith’. The musical had its fourth UK run from April to June last year, with its biggest production to date by West Yorkshire Playhouse. 2018 also marked the 30th anniversary since the release of the Sunshine On Leith album and in August saw The Proclaimers add to their magnificent songbook with the release of their 11th studio album ‘Angry Cyclist’.

Following their sell out tour across the UK last year, The Proclaimers will be back on the road this year and performing LIVE at Solihull Summer Fest!

Go West

Their debut single ‘We Close Our Eyes’ was released in the spring of 1985.  It reached number 5 in the UK charts and became a top 10 hit in the USA.  This ‘overnight’ success was followed by three further UK top 10 hits – ‘Call Me’, ‘Goodbye Girl’ and ‘Don’t Look Down’.  The album ‘Go West’ sold 2 million copies worldwide and remained on the UK chart for 83 weeks, establishing them as one of the finest song-writing partnerships to emerge in the 80’s.  In 1986 they won the BRIT Award for ‘Best British Newcomer’ – the one BRIT which was decided by the listening public.
Six albums and 20 million sales later, Go West are stronger than ever.  They have enjoyed numerous chart singles worldwide, notably ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’, the opening song in the extremely successful film ‘Pretty Woman’.  The film’s soundtrack has sold over 10 million copies.  ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’ received ASCAP Awards in 1991 and 1992 as one of the most played songs on American radio.  ‘Faithful’, the second single from their ‘Indian Summer’ album received similar BMI Awards in 1992 and 1993.

Sugarhill Gang

The Sugarhill Gang is an American hip hop group, known for bringing the genre its first mainstream success with the smash hit ‘Rapper’s Delight’ in 1979. With a backing based on Chic’s disco classic ‘Good Times’, ‘Rapper’s Delight’ was the first hip hop song to make the US Billboard Hot 100. ‘Rapper’s Delight’ remains one of the best known, most quoted and most loved hip hop tracks in history, opening the door for every hip hop act we know and love today.

After announcing their arrival on ‘Rapper’s Delight’, The Sugarhill Gang released several more hits including ‘Apache’, ‘8th Wonder’ which they performed on Soul Train in 1981, ‘Rapper’s Reprise (Jam Jam)’ which is a sequel to their debut hit, and ‘Showdown’ which featured the Furious Five.

Bad Manners

This legendary British Ska band are still packing venues out all over the world. Tours of the USA, Australia and Europe still dominate their heavy touring schedule, this year is the bands 40 Year Anniversary Tour! 

Bad Manners had huge chart success in the 80’s with 6 x Top Twenty Singles including ‘Lip Up Fatty’, “Special Brew’, ‘Can Can’, ‘My Girl Lollipop’.

The band are still fronted by the man himself Buster Bloodvessel.

Mitchell Brunings

In August of 2013, Mitchell had the opportunity to participate in The Voice Of Holland – the original programme, which other countries, including America, now base their own competitions known as The Voice. The Voice Of Holland catapulted Brunings into the spotlight. Nearly winning the competition as the runner-up, Mitchell’s YouTube videos continue to put him in the limelight, and brought him into contact with the Marley family.

In 2015, Mitchell played the lead role in the Marley musical at Baltimore’s Center Stage Theatre. It sold out before the end of its run, and was the highest-grossing and best attended show in the company’s history.

Locally he has been the lead of sell out shows ‘One Love’ Bob Marley Musical (Birmingham Rep Theatre) & ‘Marley Reprised’ (New Alexandra Theatre)

Mitchell will be performing a full LIVE set with his band at The Solihull Summer Fest on Saturday 27th July 2019

JK has toured all major theatres throughout the world and in 2013 performed his first stadium show.
